The evils of rust are taking it’s toll, and this area concerns me quite a bit. While it’s still solid behind that outer piece of metal, it’s getting bigger and that will only continue to get worse. This is problematic for me to continue to haul my daughters around. Especially the big one, who sit’s behind me on this side.
I think the best time to sell a car with no working AC is right now, when it’ll be six months before anybody needs AC in a car around here again. So, I’ve posted it on !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . At first I listed it at a “lets see if anybody is dumb enough to pay close to this price” price. The answer is no, not even the spammers contacted me about it. Last night I lowered it to a, “Let’s give people room to negotiate me down to a decent price” price.
If it ever stops raining, I’ll take better pictures. I realize these ones make it look like the car never moves. I’ve had a ton of fun with the Roadmaster, it’s been a fabulous car. If I can’t get a decent price, I’ll keep it longer and enjoy it more. But if I can get a decent price for it, I’m going to move along to the next item on the old vehicular bucket list.
What shall I replace it with? I really don’t know right now. I could really go for a second gen SHO with a manual. I’m also eyeballing this !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! nearby.
If by any change one of you is interested in buying the Roadmaster, and Oppo discount is most definitely available. You all know what I’ve done to this car, and what condition it’s in.

That is a clean looking ‘hoe. We’ve had a bunch of trucks in that body style in the family and they have all been awesome.

My smart. I’ll even give you a $3,000 discount due to the cylinder deactivation system I invented.

My grandfather had that exact car in gold with a tan interior. It was a great cruiser.

It really is, and I’m not finding any SHO’s locally that fit the bill.

I have a soft-spot for second gen SHO’s. A family friend took me for a ride in one when I was 15. It was the first “fast” car I got to ride in, and let me just say if my mom knew how fast we were going, she would have beaten him to death with his own shoes.
That said, I’m not seeing any SHO’s locally that fit the bill, and that Tahoe is pretty freakin’ sweet.

In all seriousness, you should rallycross Tucker after you get your new one, and give him the viking funeral he deserves.

It’s body on frame, so it’s not like it’s going to fall apart any time soon just cause there’s a small hole in the body. Plenty of vehicles cruising around up here with far worse rot.

i don’t hate the SHO, other than the fact it looks like an ordinary Old Taurus. in the long run i think the Tahoe will cost you less to run and maintain and repair.
that and finding a SHO in good condition will mostly come at a hefty premium.

The thing that I like most about the SHO, is that it looks like every other Taurus. I like sleepers. The Tahoe will most definitely cost less to keep on the road, and like I said, I’m not having any luck finding a suitable SHO in my area.

I mean...sell the Roadmaster...then do it...but do it with all haste.

Yeah, I know, but I don’t want my daughter riding around in something that doesn’t have all it’s crash protection in place. I’m still letting her ride around in it like this, but I want to sell it while it’s still safe.

Eh, I have no feelings whatsoever for regular 1st or 2nd gen Tauruses, good or bad. Now 3rd gen Tauruses are another story, I HATE those fugly things.

I don’t have time for proper rallying, but rallycross one Sunday every month or so is manageable.

I have a ‘93 Roadmaster Wagon that has lived in Nevada for it’s entire life. No rust. Hasn’t run since my kid hit a culvert in 2009. Since I just bought a CR-V, a CR-V and Corvair...I may need to sell a vehicle or two...
